One of the most common reasons people stumble through a presentation or speech is because they thought they prepared enough.
If you continue to feel bummed about your public speaking skills, but REFUSE to think of ways to improve it…then you likely have some other mindset stuff that you’ll need to address. More on that later…
Truth is, everyone is on different playing fields but the top speakers in the world all have one thing in common that they DO A LOT.
And when you think you’ve practiced enough, practice again.
If public speaking is a skill you want to improve, you’ll need to raise the bar and start practicing more than you probably want to.
Here are three simple areas, in my opinion, that you MUST do to boost your performance:
1. Practice your speech OUT LOUD dozens and dozens of times
2. Once you’re comfortable, rehearse in front of a coach or trust worthy friend
3. Then ask them to be honest.. ‘Please be 100% honest– What part was the most fascinating to you? If I needed to cut a piece out, what would it be? On a scale of 1-10, how much did you believe in my message?‘
